Consultancy

For ERCD consultancy means to help a client as effective and efficient as possible. Every request for consultancy is initially judged whether or not ERCD has the required competencies and experience in order to achieve an optimal consult. ERCD wants to be transparent towards its clients to make sure they know in advance they will get an optimal support and, equally important, to achieve in the end they will return to ERCD with their next questions.

    Operation of electrical installations

Operation of electrical installations is essential in relation to safety and continuity of supply. ERCD not only supports you in setting up a policy for operation of electrical installations according to the requirements and standards (as EN 50110). The practical pitfalls often present in the ‘standard policies’ for operation, can be made clear by ERCD either. A policy on paper is nice, but a policy that makes sure the risks in practice are minimized is, of course, much better. It’s not the thickness of the quality book, it’s the effectiveness that matters.

    Conformity assessment

Products sold into the European market shall comply with the applicable European Directives. The obligatory CE-marking on a product means the manufacturer states the product complies with the applicable European Directives. The specific mandatory demands applicable for a product depend on the function and field of application.
In the area of electrical installations Directives of concern are:

    • Low Voltage directive
    • Machine directive
    • EMC directive
    • ATEX directive

As a centre of competence ERCD is able to provide custom made advice concerning the Directives and underlying product standards. In case of voluntary or mandatory certification of products ERCD can support your whole conformity assessment process.

    Installation design

A correct design of an electrical installation involves not only safety, but continuity of supply either.
Many aspects are important, such as:

    • Regulations and standards
    • Discrimination
    • Short circuit fault levels
    • Protection against electrical shock
    • Selection of protective devices
    • Overvoltage protection

For ERCD a correct safety level of the installation goes together with optimum continuity of supply.
